New Top Level Domains now Available

I discovered a small new company in Bellevue, Washington that hasapplied at ICANN for more than 300 top-level-domain names (sometimes called TLDs or extensions) in 2012. Donutsraised more than $100M in its A financing round, and has plans for a second B round of capital. You can see many of the new featured top level domains at http://carolinanetdomains.com/tlds/categories.aspx There you will find different queues of the domains that are available. The first category is “General Availability”, these top level domains are available now for registration. Other categories are “Pre-registration”, “Landrush” and “Sunrise”. In these three categories you must add the domain you want to a “wish list” and will be advised if, and when the domain you are wanting to purchase is available.

To start CREATE AN ACCOUNT AT THIS LINK, no money is required and registration is free. At this point you will have a login and password and can begin to build a “wish list” and start purchasing domain names in the new categories. After you new top level domain is registered it will be maintained ny the Registry and a easy WHOIS can be found athttp://whois.donuts.co/

Similar to Donuts biggest competitor, Verisign – a registry with a few old TLDs such as .com and .net, Donuts is also a registry but has more than 100 new TLDs such as .services, .expert, and .email. Their TLDs are specific to a large number of verticals, such as general business, sports, hobbies and leisure, personal expression, occupations, shopping and e-commerce, travel and regional, community and religion, and many other interests and categories. Donuts, being a “registry”, is required by ICANN to only sell names via “registrars” such as Godaddy, 1&1.com, eNom, Tucows and many others, so we cannot sell names directly to the public.
